As custodians of the region’s critical asset, the Port of Newcastle is diversifying its trade as it strives to create a safe, sustainable, environmentally, and socially responsible Port that realises its potential.About the RoleDue to an ongoing drive to enhancing and advancing the procurement activity at the Port of Newcastle, there is an opportunity for a Procurement and Contracts Specialist to join the team.In this role you will report directly to the Executive Manager Projects and Assets, and have the oversight of:Procurement management, including periodically reviewing and recommending preferred partners, with adherence to procurement policies and effectively managing the tender process.Contract negotiation and formulation, including handling contract preparation and review for various needs, offering guidance on various agreements, and serving as a negotiator for the organisation.Stakeholder engagement with internal and external partners to ensure smooth contract management and compliance.Financial management to drive value for money and ensure project and works budget is maintained.Administration, governance, reporting and quality control across the procurement lifecycle.About YouYou will be an experienced Procurement and Contracts Specialist, with a proven ability to bring together internal and external stakeholders, assess market conditions and availability, and provide solutions that keep the procurement strategy at the port moving forward.
